The 2021 IoT Awards winners will be announced online at 1pm AEDT on November 9, shining a light on use of the Internet of Things (IoT) to benefit Australian industry, government and communities.

The awards presentation will highlight IoT projects in Australia’s health, energy, water, infrastructure and construction, manufacturing, food and agribusiness, government and transport services sectors.

These projects include the manufacture of connected COVID antigen testing systems, work to improve the safety of paramedics and patients, efforts to unlock more household use of solar energy, and funding for technology to generate insights about metropolitan and regional areas.

This year’s entrants have also worked to improve IoT security, overcome IoT interoperability challenges, and advance digital twin technology.

The IoT Awards are the awards program of IoT Alliance Australia (IoTAA), the nation's peak industry body for IoT. The organisation's CEO, Frank Zeichner, said “I’m delighted our 2021 IoT Awards show increasing diversity and maturity in projects and participants."

The awards presentation will feature comments by Federal Minister for the Digital Economy Jane Hume. The federal government announced its $1.2 billion Digital Economy Strategy in May.

The presentation will also include comments about the finalists and winning entries by some of this year’s IoT Awards judges. A total of 29 judges from across Australian industry assessed this year’s awards submissions.
